Monash University Handbook 2011 Honours - Area of Study

Students are required to complete 48 points of study comprising a thesis, a compulsory seminar and two coursework units.

The coursework units and the thesis topic are chosen in consultation with the Korean honours coordinator.

Thesis

Students complete the following two units:

• ATS4900 Honours dissertation in Korean studies Part 1
• ATS4901 Honours dissertation in Korean studies Part 2

Coursework units

Students complete two of the following units:

• ATS4188 Special project in Korean 2
• ATS4653 LCL honours workshop: Theory and method in the humanities
• ATS4689 Special reading course (Asian studies)
• 12 points of language study at the appropriate level

Note: If on exchange, students will complete the equivalent of 24 points coursework at a university in Korea.
