Description

Most IT expenditure in organisations involves enterprise-wide systems that support various business functions. This expanding use of information systems has created many challenges for the business community. The focus of the information systems major is to address those challenges in the development, implementation and management of these systems. This major has a strong practical focus to ensure graduates are job-ready for a variety of industries and types of organisations. The major prepares graduates for careers in systems analysis and project management with an emphasis on developing business information systems. The major includes a range of units in the planning, analysis, design and management of business information systems. Students learn how to determine system requirements, and then to select, implement and manage the preferred solutions. This work bridges the demanding rigor of technical IT and the challenging dynamics of the IT users' world.
