Synopsis
Issues relating to social work practice in response to child abuse, especially the relationship between the child, the family, the community and the state.
Objectives
The specific learning objectives for this unit are for students to:
- reflect upon the complex relationships between the child, the family, the community and the State;
- develop an understanding of the complexities of child protection practice, and develop an understanding of the links between policy and practice in this field.

Minor assignment(2000 words): 20%
