Synopsis
AS for SPN1060
Objectives
On completion of this subject, students will be able to:
- Converse and interact effectively in Spanish taking into consideration the social setting where the discourse takes place as well as the sociological factors of participants.
- Use advanced grammatical structures that show an advanced level of the language.
- Written work of up to 3500 words in Spanish, with the help of a monolingual Spanish dictionary.
- Engage in conversations and discussions in Spanish on topics about current affairs, historical and cultural aspects of Hispanic cultures and societies.
- Read and comprehend academic texts of up to 3500 words in Spanish.
Assessment
Culture component: 30%
Written work: 40%
Mid-semester test: 10%
Exam: 20%
Contact hours
1 x 1hr cultural tutorial, 3 x 1hr language tutorials.
Prerequisites
SPN2050 or special permission from the unit coordinator.
