Synopsis
Public health consequences of complex humanitarian emergencies involving armed conflict, population displacement, food scarcity and an outline of the critical public health interventions in these settings.
Objectives
On completion of this unit students will:
- be able to analyse the causal factors of acute and gradual onset disasters, including refugee crisis;
- develop relevant skills in the assessment of, and response to major public health emergencies.

Short answer examination 50%
Written assignment 50%
