Introduction - Faculty of Arts

Students should refer to the `Outline of courses' section to ensure they understand their individual course structure. It is important that students read and understand the structural requirements of their course so that completion is not delayed or jeopardised. Students who require further assistance in choosing units should refer to the section `Where to get help and advice in the faculty'.

Once students have determined which areas of study they are interested in and whether they wish to study full-time or part-time, they should refer to the discipline prefix (described below in `Unit codes - areas of study') and then move on to the unit section of the handbook to determine the details of the units they are interested in studying. Once students have selected the units they would like to enrol in, they should refer to the faculty timetable to check that there are no timetable clashes.
