Deferment Policy
This policy applies to all commencing undergraduate students
The Deferment Policy outlines the rules about delaying commencement of a course. The University will allow deferment of study up to a maximum of 12 months, or longer in exceptional circumstances, for all new undergraduate students who apply to their faculty of intended enrolment, except where the student intends to study elsewhere. In this case, and in the case of honours courses, the faculty will determine whether the deferment is appropriate.
Any approved study completed in the year of deferral cannot be used to gain credit unless specified in the conditions of the deferment. Students must fill out a deferment application form, available in their 'VTAC pack' (for school-leavers in Australia) or from http://www.adm.monash.edu.au/service-centre/forms.
