Description
Objectives
Generally, at the end of the course graduates will:
- be able to demonstrate the knowledge, competence, skills and attitudes that will enable them to operate as practicing organisational psychologists at a level at least equal to the best of their peers in Australia or overseas
- demonstrate a continuing professional approach to their work, community responsibilities and personal development
- demonstrate intellectual and cultural curiosity as a preparation for lifelong learning
- have an appreciation of different cultures, and the relevance of culture to the practice of organisational psychology
- be able to apply psychological principles and methods to understand and influence work behaviour, worker attitudes, organisational structures and organisational systems
- be able to apply valid, reliable and scientifically grounded methods in order to assist organisations to achieve effectiveness at the level of the organisation, the group and the individual
- promote and raise the profile of organisational psychology and act to provide the community with information and access to the services of organisational psychologists.

Professional recognition
The program has been accredited by Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) for the purposes of registration as a psychologist in Australia and membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). In addition, it has been approved by the APS College of Organisational Psychologists as meeting their requirements for full college membership.
Candidates may apply for full registration as a psychologist in the state of Victoria upon successful completion of the degree. Further information about the requirements for registration as a psychologist in Victoria may be found on the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria's website at: www.psychreg.vic.gov.au.
