Geographical information systems - Faculty of ArtsOffered by the School of Geography and Environmental ScienceThe programs in Geographical Information Systems cover advanced methods of digital spatial data handling, with special reference to the environmental and social science applications. You will learn how to use and derive information from a range of spatial data products, including satellite images and data sets from public and commercial spatial data vendors. In addition, you will be introduced to the Global Positioning System for data collection, spatial analysis using the vector and the raster data models, and spatial modeling for network analysis and for decision-making and conflict resolution.
