Units indexed by faculty Graduate Diploma in LawCourse code: 2103 * Course abbreviation: GradDipLaw * Total credit points required: 48 * 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time Study mode and course locationOn campus (Melbourne city) Course descriptionThis course caters for the needs of graduates in disciplines other than law who have an interest in the study of law at an advanced level (for example accountants, para-legal workers, legal studies teachers, law office librarians, administrators and management personnel). It alsoincreases the range of options for law graduates who wish to undertake a postgraduate qualification. Course structureA candidate for the Graduate Diploma in Law must usually complete four units with credit for prior studies. Candidates who do not have an undergraduate law degree must complete LAW7212 (Australian legal system) as one of the four units. Exemptions for some students may apply. Candidates who are not granted credit must complete eight units (including LAW7212) deemed if required. Students may undertake general studies in this diploma, or a specialisation (see below). Candidates for a specialised graduate diploma must complete a minimum of three units from the prescribed list of units for that specialisation. Candidates who are not granted advanced standing must complete a minimum of five units from the prescribed list of units for that specialisation.
