Course description

This course is designed to meet the needs of teachers and educators who are interested in developing an understanding of learning technologies and their application to a flexible learning environment.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, applicants must hold either:

  • an approved three-year bachelors degree in a relevant field with a credit average in the final year, or
  • an approved three-year bachelors degree (or equivalent) and a fourth year of study, or
  • an approved four-year bachelors degree, or
  • qualifications or experience considered by the faculty board to be equivalent to, or a satisfactory substitute for, the above awards.

Course structure

The course consists of 48 points of study. Students will complete four 12-point units (two specialist elective units and two general elective units):

Specialist elective units

At least two units chosen from:

  • EDF6441 Issues in educational multimedia
  • EDF6442 The impact of computer technology on education and society
  • EDF6444 Evaluation and development of educational software
  • EDF6447 Explorations on flexible learning and instructional design

General elective units

Any two12-point units selected from the units offered within the education postgraduate coursework studies programs.

Articulation

Candidates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Diploma of Education (Information and Communication Technology in Education) may complete a masters degree by undertaking up to a further two units (including a research core unit).
