Course description

This course has been designed to cater for those wishing to complete a preliminary course of international business studies. It canvasses international business and related topics appropriate for graduates seeking career progression in internationally focused corporations and public and non-profit sector organisations at all levels of management. The course is also appropriate for graduates working in jobs which require them to deal with international issues.

Credit for prior studies

Candidates may be eligible for credit for a maximum of one unit (6 points) if previous study is considered to be equivalent to particular units in the course of study. Credit is restricted to study undertaken in the last five years and must be approved by the program manager.

Course structure

(a) Students must complete two core units (12 points):

  • MGX9500 International management process
  • MGX9660 International business theory and practice

(b) Students must complete two units (12 points) from the following list:

  • AFF9730 International finance
  • BTX9190 International trade law
  • ECF9210 Introduction to international economics
  • MKF9550 Marketing and the international consumer

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in International Business may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in International Business or Master of International Business and would be eligible for credit for four units.
