Course descriptionThis course deals with the basics of linguistics, and may be taken for its own sake or by way of preparation for the study of the applications of linguistics to professional and social contexts covered in the Master of Applied Linguistics program. Course structureThe course normally consists of three (but a minimum of two) core units and one (or a maximum of two) elective unit. All units are worth 12 points. Exit pointsAfter successful completion of 24 points students may apply to exit the program with a graduate certificate.
