Synopsis: Geriatric Disease State Management is an elective unit in the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice. The unit will help students develop specialist knowledge and skills in the management of common geriatric health problems (e.g. musculoskeletal disorders, pain, delirium, dementias, anaemias, incontinence, osteoporosis and more). In particular it will focus on medication-related issues and the role of the pharmacist, including medication management reviews in patients with these conditions.
Assessment: Case studies, online discussion participation, written medication management review reports.
