Synopsis: This unit will introduce students to fundamentals of computer hardware and systems software, including the distributed networked environment. The unit provides knowledge of computer system operation and understanding of the machine and network architecture, technology and operation.

Assessment: Assignments: 30%; Exam: 70%.
