Clayton Second semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: Methodology and models of software development. Network Flows, software specifications, object-oriented program design, version control, real-time systems, synchronous and asynchronous systems, concurrency issues, critical sections, mutual exclusions, semaphores, parallel computing, OSI network programming, Internet-TCP-UPD-Proprietary protocols, introduction to encryption, cipher in telecommunications, discrete and continuous system simulation.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30%
Contact Hours: 26 lectures, 26 hours of practice classes and laboratory classes
Prerequisites: ECE2401 and ECE3704
