Clayton Second semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: Aspects of the legal environment that affect financial decisions, transactions and relationships. Topics covered are chosen from the laws regulating the financing implications of different forms of business organisation; financial institutions and the financial institutions/customer relationship; cheques; electronic transactions; other negotiable instruments; the laws regulating business finance and security; consumer credit; guarantees and bankruptcy.
Assessment: Assignment (2500 words): 25% + Examination (3 hours plus 30 minutes reading and noting, open-book): 75%
Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 1-hour tutorial per week
