Course description

This double-degree course aims to provide education and training in methods used in analysis, design, development and application of computer systems to the management of business operations. This involves the study of business-related techniques, practices and procedures leading to an understanding of the application of computer systems and information technology for business purposes.

Entry requirements

Applicants need to have completed:

  • a degree from a recognised tertiary institution with an average grade of credit or above, and
  • two years of relevant full-time post-degree managerial or professional work experience (preferably four years) of sufficient level and complexity as determined by the course director to enable full participation in the course.

Advanced standing

Candidates should consult the MBA Programs office regarding the advanced standing criteria for the MBA.

Course structure

(a) Students must complete 10 core units (60 points):

(b) Students must complete 10 units (60 points) from the Master of Business Systems as follows:

(i) Two core units (12 points)

(ii) Six graduate units (36 points) coded BUS from the Faculty of Information Technology.

(iii) Two graduate units (12 points) from the Faculty of Information Technology.

Students would normally complete the 10 core units before undertaking electives as part of the Master of Business Systems program.
