Course description

This course has been designed as an interactive field of study providing a close association with industry using applied cooperative teaching by both academics and industry practitioners. It is targeted at professional bankers and corporate treasurers seeking to invigorate and extend their managerial and leadership capacity and effectiveness.

Entry requirements

Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution plus a minimum of three years relevant employment experience.

Advanced standing

Candidates may be eligible for advanced standing for a maximum of five credit exemptions for units considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study.

Course structure

  1. Students must complete five core units (30 points)

    • AFF4070 Bank management and risk analysis
    • AFF4220 Finance and banking relations
    • AFF4230 Financial markets and long-term funding
    • AFF4271 Funds management
    • BTX4001 Financial institutions law
  2. Students must complete five units (30 points) at 4000 and 5000 level from the Department of Accounting and Finance, in a finance discipline, subject to approval by the course director.
