Graduate Certificate in Workplace and Employee Relations

Course description

This course develops practitioner skills on a sound analytical and conceptual basis. It is ideally suited for IR and HR practitioners and for managers. It focuses upon the workplace whilst making the necessary connections with the broader institutional and legal framework.

Entry requirements

Applicants need to have completed:

  • a bachelors degree from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualification as determined by faculty board, and
  • a minimum of two years of relevant employment experience.

Course structure

Students must complete four core units (24 points):

  • BTX9070 Labour relations law
  • MGX9180 Employee relations
  • MGX9220 Industrial and workplace relations
  • MGX9600 Managing people and organisations

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Workplace and Employee Relations may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Workplace and Employee Relations or Master of Workplace and Employee Relations and would be eligible for advanced standing for four units.
