Course description

This course is designed for students with a degree in a field other than accounting who wish to obtain a sound introduction to accounting concepts and procedures.

Course structure

Students must complete four core units (24 points):

  • AFX4601 Financial accounting 1
  • AFX5611 Managerial accounting
  • AFX9500 Introductory accounting and financial information systems 1
  • BTX9020 Business law

Successful students may proceed to studies towards the Master of Practising Accounting, which will then provide them with the basic requirement to obtain membership of the professional accounting bodies.
