Synopsis: Introduction to the theory and processes of public relations. Historical, economic, social, ethical and legal contexts. Roles and responsibilities of public relations people in managing populations in an age of rapid social change. Public relations processes in International and Australian contexts.

Assessment: Essay (1200 words): 20% + Folio project (1800 words): 40% + Examination (2.5 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 1 hour lecture and 1 x 1 hour tutorial) per week

Prerequisites: COM1010 and COM1020 or equivalents or permission (Business students may substitute MKW1120 for COM1010 or COM1020).
