Synopsis: Topics include an introduction to the major differences between domestic and international HRM; cultural, social and ethical issues for IHRM; the possible linkages between IHRM and business strategy; IHRM planning, policies and procedures; international relations and evaluation of host country environments; recruitment and selection; strategic compensation and reward systems; training and development of employee capabilities; maintaining the employment relationship within international operations.

Assessment: Written minor assignment (2000 words): 20% + Written major assignment (3000 words): 30% + Tutorial participation: 10% + Examination (2 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 2-hour lecture per week and 1-hour tutorial per week
