Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit provides an introduction to the factors involved in the effective utilisation of people within organisations. Topics include analysis of the global context for human resource management (HRM); the strategic role of HRM; human resource planning; job analysis; staffing; performance management; training and development; remuneration; and legal issues in HRM, including EEO and occupational health and safety.
Assessment: Written assignments: 50% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures per week and one 1-hour tutorial per week
