Synopsis: This unit examines the nature of managerial work in organisations; theories of management; the management of people as individuals and groups; the importance of leadership and motivation; the principles by which change is introduced into organisations; and the key factors in the organisation's environment that impact on the work of managers and the organisations.
Assessment: Written assignments of 1500 words (15%) and 2500 words (25%) + Tutorial participation: 10% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
Contact Hours: Three hours of class contact.
