Synopsis: Conventional systems of power generation and their optional equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines and both spark ignition and compression ignition internal combustion engines; combustion; reversed cycles for heat pumps and refrigeration; solar/thermal energy conversion methods; introduction to photovoltaic energy conversion; thermal energy storage; power generation from wind, hydro and biomass.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 60% + Laboratory work: 16% + Tests: 24%
Contact Hours: 22 lectures, 22 practice class and laboratory hours
