Synopsis: The unit is designed to revisit skills gained in the course so far and provide students with an opportunity to consolidate and reinforce these skills. This unit will introduce students to the practical aspects of systems development and the nature of the environment in which development takes place. A case study will be used based on a simple organisational scenario and students will be expected to develop a set of deliverables and provide a simple web-based application that addresses some of the case study's core requirements. This solution will be used as the basis for the development of a more complete and modular working system in second semester.
