Synopsis: This unit will cover wireless network technologies as well as fundamental data communication and network issues. Main topics will include the following: network layer design issues, routing and congestion control algorithms, the transport layer design issues, connection management, the application layer (multimedia), security, network management, wireless technologies: GSM, mobile IP, WAP and Blue tooth. Access to the university's computer systems through an Internet service provider is compulsory for off-campus students.

Assessment: Assignments 50% and Examination 50%.

Prerequisites: For Master of Business Systems students are required to take GCO4801 or BUS9520 or equivalent.
