Synopsis: This unit extends the study of teaching strategies and media issues introduced in EDF5476. Students will be required to design and implement sequential programs of lessons in media studies. The focus will be the Victorian Arts curriculum and more general trends in media studies education in Australia and international contexts.

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will have undertaken research in selected readings related to the production of Australian media, students will have investigated a variety of Australian initiatives in the media, and be able to report on their efficacy; students will be able to summarise and present a range of issues informed by their study, in either written or video format; students should be able to incorporate aspects of their research findings, and the recent media developments into their provision of programs in schools.
