Synopsis: Computer control. Fault tolerant control. Characteristics of process control actuators and sensors. Control instrumentation. Industrial PID controllers. Control of electrical drives. PLC's. Data communications for industrial control - fieldbusses. DCS (Distributed Control Systems), SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition). Chemical process control. Electro-hydraulic control.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30%
