Malaysia Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Piecewise-linear analysis. Nonlinear circuits without energy storage: clipper, comparator, logic-gate families. Diode rectifiers, clamps and filters. Voltage regulators: linear and switching. Wave-shaping circuits: RC differentiation, pulse generation. Large signal transistor models, transistor switching performance. Regenerative wave shaping: triggers, multivibrators, oscillators, phase locked loops. Op-amp nonlinear applications: precision rectifiers, clamps, peak detectors, logarithmic and exponential circuits, multipliers, comparators, Schmitt trigger. Grounding, shielding and second order effects. Use of CAD tools, pcb layout.
