Synopsis: Systematic reviews of the literature are becoming increasingly available and many clinical specialties are publishing evidence-based clinical guidelines, position statements and recommendations based on the available evidence. The skills needed to source, appraise and integrate this evidence are essential and are delivered through this unit.

Critically appraise an evidence-based clinical guideline. 2.Have an understanding of the key principles of implementation of evidence into clinical practice. 3.Be competent at identifying the barriers to gathering and applying the evidence. 4.Be able to formulate strategies to overcome barriers to applying the evidence. 5.Be competent in identifying what motivates people to follow evidence and how to manage behavioural change for implementation of clinical best practice.
