Synopsis: Introduces students to current practice for securing computer systems and open networks, and the legal responsibilities of organisations that maintain databases of personal information. The syllabus includes the principles of security and their application to securing computer systems, privacy in Australia, securing open systems and some of the relevant standards.
Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 70% + Assignment work: 30%
