Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Introduction to statistical and quantitative methods. The presentation of business and economic data, statistical writing, the use of frequency distributions, measures of central tendency and dispersion, principles of probability, use of probability distributions, sampling theory, estimation, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, the use of indices, time series analysis and forecasting methods.
Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 60% + Mid-semester test: 25% + written report: 15% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit
Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 1-hour laboratory per week
