Synopsis: This fieldwork will challenge the student to integrate their academic and vocational training and to synthesise knowledge into a practical project plan. Not only will students gain confidence by participating in a work environment but also provide tangible benefit to their participating agency. The unit includes assessment and collection of data, design of an intervention to address a health issue, execution of the plan, and evaluation of outcomes. Student will become competent at entry level in all areas of dietetic practice. Principles of management of workload, reporting competently in line management, and responsibility for project management with benchmarks will be understood.
Assessment: Essay: 40% + Group presentation: 30% + Individual summary: 30%
Prerequisites: Completion of Years 1, 2 and 3 and Semester 1 of Year 4 of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics
