Plant sciences

The discipline

Plant science is the study of plants, their diversity and structure, and how they function. It involves studying plants living on land, in the sea and in freshwater environments, from the scale of genes and molecules to ecology.

Sequence requirements

Minor sequence in plant sciences (24 points):

• BIO1011 and either BIO1022 or BIO1042, and
• any 12 points from BIO2181, BIO2082/BIO3082^#, BIO2103/BIO3103^# or BIO3091.

Major sequence in plant sciences (48 points):

• BIO1011 and either BIO1022 or BIO1042, and
• BIO2181 and either BIO2082 or BIO2103, and
• any two of BIO3091*, BIO3082^# or BIO3103^#, and any two of BIO2022, BIO3021, BIO3011, BIO3111, GEN3031 or GEN3041/GEN3042.

* This unit has level-two prerequisites beyond those listed at level two.
^# The version of these units at level three cannot be taken if the corresponding version at level two has been completed.
