Course description

The Master of Business (Banking and Finance) by coursework and minor thesis offers specialised studies in the banking and finance industry. The program aims to provide students with the conceptual and managerial decision-making skills necessary for effective management in the continuously changing domestic and international financial market environment.

Entry requirements

No credit for work done previously is available in this masters degree.

Course structure

(a) Students must complete four core units (24 credit points):

(b) Students must complete four units (24 credit points) as follows:
(i) Four units from the following list:

(ii) Four 9000-level units from the Department of Accounting and Finance, in a finance discipline, subject to approval by the course director.
Students who study AFX9641 must have an accounting background.
(c) Students must complete eight units (48 credit points) at 4000 and 5000 level from the Department of Accounting and Finance, in a finance discipline, subject to approval from the course director.
Students interested in a minor thesis in year two must consult with the course director in the first instance.
