Clinical studies 6 (9 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Through appropriate supervised clinical experience, students will extend their clinical knowledge, understanding and skills in the medical imaging specialities of obstetric sonography as addressed in RAD3052. Students will commence the development of professional skills and proficiencies, patient assessment, procedural technique, clinical problem-solving and legal considerations consistent with the requirements of this form of sonographic examination. In relation to abdominal sonography, introduced in RAD3021 and clinically experiences in RAD3041 students will continue their ongoing development of professional skills and proficiencies with experience of increasing complexity or difficulty of examination determined by either patient status, procedural technique, patient and professional communication, image evaluation and supplementary examination, organisational or legal obligations.

Assessment: General radiography case & log reports: 10% + Clinical Skills' Assessments: 20% + Ultrasound case & log reports: 10% + Clinical Skills' Assessment: 20% + Professional Portfolio: 40%
