Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will 1.have a basic knowledge of applications of plastics in product design; 2.understand the performance of plastic materials including environmental exposure; 3.understand the properties of plastic materials and their process interaction; 4.be able to design products with characteristics unique to polymer materials.

Assessment: Examination: 100%

Contact Hours: One 1-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial and 4 independent study hours per week
