Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will 1.have a basic knowledge of high volume manufacturing methods; 2.understand the properties of materials used in high volume production; 3.be able to interpret product designs for high volume production, in plastics and metals; 4.be able to compare and select materials for product design applications.

Assessment: Examination: 100%

Contact Hours: One 1-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial and 4 independent study hours per week

Prerequisites: IDE2401
