Modelmaking and workshop practice 2 (3 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will: 1.understand models as a means of communication and evaluation with which to validate design project solutions; 2.plan and implement a variety of techniques to produce cost effective models; 3.establish source contacts in the key areas of materials and processes required to produce the model; 4.know how to produce three dimensional models and simple prototypes efficiently and to a high standard of quality and aesthetic excellence; 5.be able to demonstrate safe working practices on all equipment students are permitted to use.

Assessment: Progressive submissions: 100%

Contact Hours: 2 laboratory hours and 4 independent study hours per week

Prerequisites: IDE1501
