Modelmaking and workshop practice 1 (3 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will: 1.have a knowledge of the range of modeling types and their applications; 2.be able to make simple models of design objects in the workshop; 3.have a general understanding of fabrication techniques and finishing processes involved in the execution of prescribed design modelling projects; 4.have a working knowledge of the application and operation of manual and semi-automatic equipment; 5.understand occupational health and safety policy requirements of the modelmaking workshop environment and be able to demonstrate safe working practices on a selected range of equipment.

Assessment: Progressive assessment: 100%

Contact Hours: 3 laboratory hours and 3 hours individual laboratory work per week
