Health education and promotion (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: At the completion of the course the students will have an understanding of 1. The theories of learning, health behaviour and health education and promotion 2. The application of these theories to health education and promotion practice 3. The principles of planning, implementing, managing and evaluating health education and promotion programs 4. The methods of approach for health education and promotion in different environments 5. The role of health education and promotion in the wider policy environment

Assessment: Examination: 40% + Analysis in tutorial classes: 10% + Group presentation: 20% + Essay: 30%

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week (lectures and tutorials)

Prerequisites: BND1011
