Personality: Beyond the Persona (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate: 1. familiarity with the major theoretical approaches to personality and individual differences. 2. an understanding of the historical and social contexts in which these theoretical approaches emerged. 3. an indepth knowledge of one of the major theoretical approaches to personaility and individual differences. 4. a greater degree of theoretical understanding and more sophisticated analysis in their written work than students enrolled in BHS2711.

Assessment: Theoretical essay (2500 words): 55% + Two 1-hour tests (2000 words): 45%

Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 1 hour lecture and 1 x 1 hour tutorial) per week

Prerequisites: BHS1711 and BHS1712 or equivalent

Prohibitions: BHS2711, BHS2320, GSC2711, PSY3051
