Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate: 1. a broad understanding of the basic theories and principles underlying social psychology and behaviour; 2. the ability to discriminate between evidence, interpretation, opinion and fact in evaluating secondary sources. 3. an advanced understanding of one of the major theories of social psychology or group behaviour.

Assessment: Research article critique (500 words): 10% + Essay (2000 words): 45% + Two 1-hour tests (2000 words): 45%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (1 x 2 hour lecture and 1 x 1 hour tutorial) per week
