Human Relationships and Interpersonal Communication (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate: 1. a broad theoretical understanding of the processes underlying relationship formation, maintenance and dissolution. 2. a broad understanding of the theories and principles of leadership and family systems and group dynamics. 3. an indepth understanding of one of the major theories of relationship science or group behaviour. 4. a greater degree of theoretical understanding and more sophisticated analysis in their written work than students enrolled in BHS2490.

Assessment: Research essay (2500 words): 55% + Two1-hour tests (2000 words): 45%

Contact Hours: 2 hours per week

Prerequisites: one of BHS1711, BHS1712, GSC1711, GSC1712 or equivalent

Prohibitions: BHS2490
