Synopsis: The unit will cover the following topics: modern family structure and kinship relations, family processes, changing gender roles within the family, and family disruption.

Assessment: Seminar presentation and written paper (on-campus students) or research essay (DE students) (2500 words): 55% + Examination (2 hours): 45%

Contact Hours: 2 hour seminar per week

Prerequisites: SCY1801 and SCY1802 or equivalents
