Population and Migration (6 points)

Synopsis: The unit examines (a) the determinants of fertility, mortality and internal migration in Australia, (b) the factors shaping Australian immigration policy since World War Two and the outcomes as regards country of origin, skill and other social characteristics of migrants, and (c) the migrant impact on Australian society, including inter ethnic relations.

Assessment: Essay (3000 words): 67% + Class project (equivalent to 1500 words): 33%
