Sociology of Ethnicity and Minority Relations (6 points)

Synopsis: Migrant and indigenous relations; concepts and models of inter-group relations; politics, meanings and experiences of ethnicity/ethnic identity and ethnocentrism in the context of multiculturalism; social implications of an increasingly plural society.

Assessment: Essay (1750 words): 40% + One research report (1750 words): 40% + Test (1 hour): 20%

Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 lecture and 1 workshop) per week

Prerequisites: A first-year sequence in Sociology or permission
