Psychology, management and marketing (6 points)

Synopsis: Psychology, Management and Marketing is the capstone subject in the BPsychMgt/Mkt degree. A major goal is to allow students to participate actively in discussion. Discussion will be focused around business cases that allow students to apply their knowledge of management, marketing and psychology. When planning for the future, students will be encouraged to consider not only profit margins, but also the psychological, legal, ethical and marketing issues of the stakeholders involved. The other major goal is to provide an opportunity for students to practice working in teams to integrate and apply the theories of psychology, management and marketing to practical problems in organisations.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours essay): 40% + Team Project (4000 word essay, team presentation, team performance appraisal): 40% + Practical Journal (2000 words): 20%

Contact Hours: Two 1.5 hour discussion classes per week

Prerequisites: Any two units in each of the three disciplines: psychology, managment and marketing (any two of the six units must be at second-year level or above, or by permission
